I’m a big believer of having an established morning routine.
Starting your morning out correctly sets the tone for your entire day. When you set the tone for your day you set the tone for your life.
Before I had a morning routine, I was flying by the seat of my pants. I started each morning feeling like I was already behind. Now, I am able to walk into each day and accomplish all my must-have items.
5:45 | Workout
I wake up at 5:45 each morning to workout.
As a side note: I used to think that if I started a business, I would roll out of bed whenever I woke up. That is 100% not the case. I wake up earlier now than ever before.
I like to have everything set-up the night before, so that I can start my workout before I even wake up. I make sure to have a workout queued up, workout clothes sitting out at the ready and a full water bottle.
That way, I wake up put on my tennis shoes and start my workout before I’m even awake yet. Plus, it helps minimize any excuses I may tell myself.
6:15 | Daily Reading
I’m going to preface this with a little-known fact about me. I’m pretty woo-woo.
This may make you uncomfortable and I apologize for that, but I’m attempting to be as transparent as possible here. I pull a tarot card each morning.
For me, reading tarot, is the closest form of meditation I can achieve. It helps me reflect inwardly and be intentional about the day ahead. At this time, I also journal about my reading and where my head is at.
Alternatively, this could be a time to meditate, read the bible or journal.
6:30 | Shower
Up next, I shower and get ready for the day. The level at which I get ready differs depending on what I have on the agenda.
If it’s just me and my computer all day, very minimal work goes into getting ready for the day. If I have a meeting or know I’ll be out and about that day, I get a little cuter. AKA change out of pajamas and do my hair.
7:30 | Listen to a Podcast
Before I dive into work, I listen to a business podcast.
I love to get inspired by other industry leaders first thing in the morning. It helps me to push myself outside of my comfort zone and chase some bigger goals I have.

8:00 | Write Out My To-Do List
Before I open my email or Instagram, I write out my to-do list.
I attempt to write this out at the end of each day before I log off, but that doesn’t always happen.
Is this a safe space? Because I need to confess that I tend to get emails and DM’s past my working hours that I occasionally (always) respond to or at least read. So, writing out my to-do list in the morning or adding additional items to my to-do list is always a piece of my morning routine.
Finally, I start my day.
