5 Must-Have Design Templates for Your Creative Business

Design templates are one of those things every business owner needs. Often, they just don't realize how valuable they are until they have them.

Design templates can streamline your graphics, your process and your marketing efforts. With simple and easy-to-use templates you can save yourself time, energy and money with just a little creativity upfront.

In this new post, I'm talking about 5 must-have design templates for all creative business owners. Plus, a few of my favorite resources for finding your own.

Let's get started!

1 | Social media templates

How often is your business utilizing social media? I'd guess about every day. How many social media platforms does your business have a presence on? Probably a few... Now, how much time do you spend a week creating social media graphics for each post and platform? More than you'd care to admit, I'm sure.

That's where social media templates come in. Social media templates allow you to create custom graphics from a working file to streamline your design process, marketing and branding.

For my business, I use Instagram templates, Instagram story templates and Pinterest templates. Each template saves me significant amounts of time and builds consistency around my entire brand. Personally, I love the JPD Shop templates, but you can also check out resources like Creative Market* or create your own!

2 | Blog post templates

If you blog for your business, you are probably creating a lot of graphics for each new blog post.

Depending on your posting schedule this may be taking up a large chunk of your time. For me, blogging three times a week means I'm creating quite a few graphics per post each week. The minute I decided to launch a blog, I knew I would need to create some blog post templates. Due to the layout of my blog, my blog post graphics double as my Pinterest graphics which further streamlines my process.

It doesn't matter if you decide to use square, vertical or horizontal graphics as long as they remain consistent.

3 | Business card templates

Whether you are a one-woman shop or manage a team, you'll need a business card sooner rather than later.

As a primarily digital entrepreneur, I've been surprised how often a business card can come in handy for my small business. Business opportunities pop up in some surprising and unexpected ways and a business card has the ability to make anyone appear more professional.

Again, I love the business card template from the JPD Shop, but you can also check out resources like Creative Market* or create your own! I have a step-by-step blog post on designing your own business card, which I linked below, for those of you interested in designing your own.

4 | Media kit templates

A media kit is a physical or digital document that aids in promoting your business to your fellow entrepreneurs, prospective clients or promoters. This can be useful for partnerships, collaborations and general press.

Depending on your business you may need a multi-faceted document or a template that you can quickly and easily update to appeal to different outlet's.

The JPD Shop currently has a one-page media kit available and plans to offer a multiple page media kit in the near future. Creative Market* also offers a few great templates!

5 | Presentation templates

Lastly, presentation slides!

If you host webinars, offer courses or present at workshops presentation slides are a must-have template. They offer great visuals aids, engage audience members and provide valuable information. Plus, working with a template ensures your slides are always on-brand, recognizable and easy for you to create.
